Millais Gardens open to the public
The Millais family 6 acre woodland garden is open daily until 11th June and features thousands of rhododendrons with companion shrubs and trees in a beautiful tranquil setting, including ponds and a stream. The Millais family started planting the garden in 1947 and today it contains a fantastic display of rare and interesting plants that they have collected during their many exciting plant hunting trips to the Himalayas. They have introduced some wonderful new species and continue to propagate new varieties. The garden is a quiet haven, surrounded by a thousand acres of beautiful Frensham Common, and is a blaze of colour in May when the rhododendrons are in bloom.
Come and help us support the National Gardens Scheme on our NGS OPEN DAYS on 2nd and 3rd May. All proceeds are in aid of Macmillan Nurses and other NGS charities.
