Chelsea Build Day 1

Today we went to Chelsea to start our build for next week. In the past we have started on Friday, but because we are being more adventurous with a larger exhibit, and a patio with steps we decided to start today.

Chelsea was more hectic than we were expecting, with huge artics delivering plants, monster construction cranes and forklifts, and a beehive of activity by an army of landscaping and display teams.

Today we built our patio and steps leading up to them in an attractive dark slate which came from Coomers, (www.coomers.net) who are local to us. We also took up the first load of plants which were ready to go. We are delighted to have such a prominent position within the Pavilion, and to see the image of Rhododendron tricanthum on all the posters and publicity material, including tickets. That's great for Rhododendrons!
