Chelsea Preview Day

Chelsea Preview Day

Today we had all the celebrities passing our colourful exhibit. Lots of famous people from politics, business and media, but no names for fear of a super-injunction! There was quite a party atmosphere with a steel band on one side and a Scottish piper on another, and the Gala Evening eventually finished after 9.00pm.

During the afternoon, Her Majesty The Queen came right past our exhibit, and some members of the Royal party stopped off for a nice chat, and even ordered some plants. Rosemary Hyde was present to help us launch 4 new Azaleas raised by her father, the late George Hyde, who raised the Solent strain of Azaleas for Exbury Gardens. We also launched Rhododendron Rabatz, and this was shortlisted for RHS Chelsea 2011 'Plant of the Year'. Favourable comments from senior staff and officials, so hopefully we will find a good Medal on our exhibit tomorrow morning.
