Waxy scarlet red funnel-shaped flowers in April to May which hold their colour well. Probably one of the best reds. WFH has dark green leaves with thick buff indumentum underneath the leaf. It is a lovely neat compact plant that has a spreading habit. The plant was named after W. F. Hamilton who was the Head Gardener at Pylewell Park in Hampshire. Height 80-100cm in 10 years.
