Known as the Alpen Rose from the Alps of Central Europe, this plant has deep crimson-pink flowers in June/July. Useful late flowering and very hardy. This is an alpine plant which will grow well in cooler Northern climates, but it will not tolerate high summer temperatures. Height 40cm in 10 years, growing wider than tall. Requires moist well drained soil.
Dwarf Rhododendrons don’t mind the sun but they hate too much heat, so do avoid reflected heat from South facing walls and patios.
