We think this old hybrid is poorly named, but we seem to have the correct stock! Scarlet in bud, opening to deep crimson-pink flowers with bright red blotch and speckles it certainly is worth considering. Lees Scarlett is a useful variety as it flowers at intervals from December to March, often just before Christmas. It has a lovely light indumentum on underside of leaves which makes the foliage very interesting. Height 140-160cm in 10 years.
