Lilac in bud opening to scented flowers with a pink flush. Very free flowering in April. Makes a magnificent tall shrub or small tree. Best in full sun, and will tolerate any reasonable soil except waterlogged.

Raised at Nymans garden (NT) in Sussex before 1950, and thought to be a hybrid between M. kobus and stellata 'Rosea'
