Rhododendrons for Neutral Soils
As well as the few varieties which will tolerate almost neutral soils, we are now able to supply a limited range of hardy hybrids and yakushimanum varieties grafted onto the revolutionary new "Inkarho" lime tolerant root stock. This patented rootstock was developed from a plant growing in a German lime quarry, and has been the subject of an extensive 20 year breeding and testing programme. It is particularly recommended for neutral clay soils, up to pH7.0. You can now expect prolific flowering and dark green leaves for the first time, at only a little extra per plant!
Please telephone for availability.

Standard Rhododendrons
We grow a limited range of hardy hybrids and yakushimanums as standards, grafted on 120 cm stems. Ideal for patio pots or formal situations (and better looking than a bay tree!).

Award of Garden Merit (AGM)
We have marked those plants given the Royal Horticultural Society AGM.  To qualify for an AGM a plant "should be excellent for ordinary garden decoration and of good constitution.  It should not be particularly susceptible to any pest or disease, and it should not require highly specialised growing conditions."
You will see that we grow a large number of AGM plants and you may find this helpful in making your selection, but please don't ignore the other plants!
The RHS First Class Certificate (FCC) and Award of -Merit (AM) are awarded to plants of excellence or merit for exhibition.
