This group includes plants mainly from the maddenia subsection. While they will grow well outside in places like Cornwall and the West Coast of Scotland, for most people they need to be grown in a cold conservatory or against a South facing wall. Being epiphytic, they like excellent drainage, and they need ruthless pruning after flowering to maintain their shape.
