Order information

Plants can be collected from our Nursery or we despatch throughout England, Scotland and Wales. Most new crops are ready in early September, and this is the best time for ordering and planting. Other batches become ready throughout the season. We are sorry, but some plants sell out quickly and may not be available until the following year. All orders are processed as soon as payment is received. Prices include VAT @ 20%.

Plant sizes and quality

Our plants compare favourably with those commonly found in garden centres, and will be bushy, clean and correctly labelled. Every effort is made when picking to select the best possible plant for your order but please be advised not all plants will arrive with flower buds. We do grow an extensive range of rare plants, some of which can take several years to flower, and their habit can look a little sparse initially. The pictures in the Size Charts are for guidance only. Typical pot diameters in centimetres are 3L (18cm), 5L (22cm), 7.5L (25cm), and 15L (33cm). Plant sizes shown are measured from the top of the pot, or the spread of the plant if the habit is wider (especially yakushimanum varieties).

Collection

Plants are available all year from our plant centre where most of our popular varieties are arranged by colour to help your selection. Collection avoids despatch charges and we can give personal attention. Come and browse, or simply 'click and collect' and select the 'Collect' option at our secure Checkout. 

Plants are perishable and must be collected within 6 days. We are unable to care for your plants after this time and they will be disposed of without refund.

EU sales

Unfortunately sales to EU are suspended due to Brexit, and the huge additional shipping costs with Phytosanitory Inspections and Certificates. We have lost 5-10% of our sales, and do not expect to ship retail orders again.

Data Protection

We maintain customers' details for order processing and marketing purposes. We do not sell or exchange them with anyone else. Please advise us if you wish us to amend or remove your details from our database.

Gift Vouchers 

Why not treat your friends to a Millais Nurseries Gift Voucher? These are available for sums greater than £20.00 and can be used for online purchases. Sorry, but they are not redeemable in our Plant Centre.
