An absolute must for every garden with narrow pointed leaves always smothered with pretty pink flowers in May! This plant has striking foliage which looks good all year. It has purplish pink flowers, paler in the centre with a conspicuous red blotch. A very dense, upright growing shrub. Height 120-140cm in 10 years.
Hampshire Belle originates from the Hillier Gardens and Arboretum near Romsey, where the Head Gardener, E. W. George, found it as a seedling in the garden in 1973, and subsequently grew it on and named it in 1990. It appears very similar to one recently launched by Hachmann's Nursery called Graziella.
